What is a layout control?

You might not know this but I have a part time job, at the golf shop. One of my duties involves: stacking the shelves full of products.

Now my boss is very particular about how things should be stacked. He wants everything to be stacked to the left. The only time something can be on the right hand side of the shelf is when there is no more room on the left hand side. Things are stacked close together.

Another box likes to arrange all the products in a different way: he likes to stack them on top of each other. Every time some new products come in, I have to stack it – up.

Another boss wants things ordered in a grid-like format. People want things to different.

“Layout controls” are basically different bosses, that want things arranged in different ways, or rather, layout controls do the work of arranging things in the store, in different ways.

On layout control might like to stack things on top of each other, another arranges things neatly in a grid.

Summary

Layout controls help you arrange things in WPF, so that things look consistent and stylish.
